Where to Buy Nicotine Pouches in Vietnam (Online vs Shops)

No supermarket chain, convenience-store chain or pharmacy chain stocks them anywhere in the country, and VinaPouches has no physical shop in any city either. The actual choice on the ground is between an ordinary online store β a catalogue with prices in VND, an age gate, product pages that publish the barcode, and a tracked parcel β and the informal channel: cans sold through chat apps, group buys, cans carried back in someone's luggage, or a handful of tins kept behind a counter somewhere.
The informal channel is not automatically bad, but it has structural gaps you should price in. Stock is whatever that person happened to get. Nothing is listed, so nothing can be compared. There is no order record, no tracking, no returns process, and no way to raise a problem with anyone once the money has changed hands. And because nothing is published, you cannot verify a can against anything before you buy it.
What each channel actually gives you
- A published catalogue. VinaPouches lists 682 products from 49 brands, each on its own page with the strength, format and price in VND. You can see what exists before you commit.
- A barcode you can check. Every can ships sealed, with the maker's EAN barcode printed on the base. Compare it with the barcode on the product page β ZYN Apple Mint Slim S3, for example, carries EAN 5704420040770.
- An order record. A tracking number is emailed when the parcel leaves the warehouse, so there is a paper trail if something goes wrong.

How ordering actually works
Delivery times by city
Ho Chi Minh City is same-day for orders placed before 2 PM on a working day, and next morning after that. Hanoi is 1β2 business days, with same-day dispatch on the same 2 PM cut-off. Da Nang is 2β3 business days by express courier, and Hoi An runs off the Da Nang route, arriving roughly half a day later. Nha Trang, Hue and Da Lat sit in the 3β5 business day band with every other province. Islands and remote communes can add another day or two. Paying: cash on delivery, and nothing else
VinaPouches accepts cash on delivery only. You pay the courier in cash when the parcel arrives, which means no card number, bank detail or e-wallet account is entered on the site at any stage. Card and e-wallet payment are not available yet. Two practical consequences: someone has to be present with cash when the courier turns up, and COD orders are confirmed by phone or Zalo before dispatch, so give a number you actually answer.
You can inspect the outer box before paying, but couriers do not permit opening the parcel first. If the box arrives visibly damaged, refuse it β the order is re-sent at no cost.
What arrives
Orders ship in a plain box with no brand name, product photo or nicotine wording printed on the outside, and a neutral sender name on the label. In Vietnamese heat, put the cans somewhere below about 25Β°C once they arrive. A closed motorbike compartment in the afternoon can pass 50Β°C, which dries pouches out and flattens the flavour within days.
What to check on a can, wherever you bought it
These checks take under a minute and work the same on a parcel from any seller:
- The factory seal is intact and has not been slit and re-stuck.
- The EAN barcode on the base is 13 digits, prints sharply, and scans with any phone barcode app.
- A batch code and a production or expiry date are printed on the base, not just a sticker over it.
- Printing is crisp and square to the can β blurred, faded or misaligned text is a warning.
- The lid clicks shut properly and the used-pouch compartment sits flush.
- The pouches inside are uniform in size, shape and count.
- The price is in a normal range. A can offered at a fraction of the going rate is the most reliable single warning sign there is.
If a can fails any of these, do not use it, and ask the seller for the batch code and EAN. Counterfeit or refilled cans are unverified goods: nobody can tell you what is inside one or how much nicotine it holds.
"Snus" or "nicotine pouch"?
In Vietnam the two words are used for the same thing, and this article uses both because that is how people search. Strictly, traditional Swedish snus is made from ground tobacco leaf and is brown. Where the law stands
Vietnam's prohibition on e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products is Resolution 173/2024/QH15, adopted by the National Assembly on 30 November 2024 and in force from 1 January 2025. It bans the production, trade, import, storage, transport and use of those two categories. Oral nicotine pouches are not enumerated in it, and no separate Vietnamese instrument currently in force names them either way. A draft amendment to the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms that would define a category covering "tΓΊi ngαΊm nicotine" is expected to reach a National Assembly vote around October 2026.
