ZYN Review Vietnam: US Version vs. European Version

ZYN exists as two separate product lines — one made for the United States, one for Europe — and the two do not share a strength scale. VinaPouches stocks the European line: 42 ZYN products graded S1 to S6, which is 3mg to 18mg of nicotine per pouch. The European line: what S1 to S6 actually means

Read the S-number, not the adjective on the shelf label. Some retailers translate S3 as "Strong" and S4 as "Extra Strong", but those words are not standardised across brands and two cans described as "extra strong" can be 9mg apart.

The trap: an S3 is not an American 3

This is the practical heart of the US-versus-Europe question. American ZYN cans state their strength as milligrams per pouch, printed as a bare number on the lid. European cans state a scale position. The digits look interchangeable and they are not: S3 is 9mg, three times what a US can marked 3 contains. Nothing on either lid tells you which system you are holding.

Slim and mini

The 42 ZYN products here split into 28 slim and 13 mini, plus one can (Watermelon Mint S2) listed without a format. One ZYN with no number at all

ZYN Lemon Spritz Slim is in the catalogue without a per-pouch strength, because the maker does not state one for it. The product page leaves the strength field empty rather than filling it with an estimate. That policy applies across the whole site: where a manufacturer publishes no per-pouch dose, VinaPouches publishes none either. It is the only defensible way to handle a number on an age-restricted product.

The flavour lineups do not match either

The two lines are formulated for different markets, and the flavour lists diverge. Everything named on this page is what VinaPouches has in stock from the European range. A flavour you read about in an American review may simply not exist on a European can, and several European flavours — Violet Licorice, Black Licorice, Cactus Spice, Red Berry Fizz — reflect Scandinavian tastes rather than American ones. Licorice in particular is a Nordic staple that almost never appears on a US lid.

Which ZYN should you buy in Vietnam?

If you have not used nicotine pouches before, the site FAQ puts the usual starting point at 4–6mg, which on this scale means S2. Gentle Mint Mini S1 at 3mg is a step below that again. Most established daily users settle at S3 or S4, the 9–12mg band, which is also the largest band across the whole VinaPouches catalogue. S5 and S6 — 15mg and 18mg — are aimed at people with a long-established high nicotine tolerance and are a poor place to begin.
