Iceberg Flavor Ranking: The Good, The Bad, and The Crazy

That is the first thing worth knowing before you pick a flavour, because ICEBERG Energy Ultra sits on the same shelf, in the same livery, as the rest of the line and is a caffeine pouch. Everything else here is a nicotine product.

The second thing: the 70mg and 50mg printed on these cans are milligrams per gram of pouch material, not the dose in the pouch. ICEBERG publishes no per-pouch figure, so we do not print one. The mint end

Sweet Mint Ultra is the one to start with, and the one most people come back to. It is a straightforward cold sweet mint with no fruit behind it, which makes it the easiest to judge the line by: if the intensity of an ICEBERG pouch suits you at all, it will suit you here.

Emerald Ultra is the sharper, more medicinal mint of the two. Where Sweet Mint is rounded, Emerald is closer to a eucalyptus or a strong spearmint chew. People who find most mint pouches too sweet tend to prefer this one; people who came from menthol cigarettes usually do not.

Watermelon Mint Gum Ultra bridges to the fruit half of the range. The watermelon reads as candy rather than fruit, and the mint sits underneath rather than on top. It is the mildest-tasting can in the line, which is not the same as the mildest can.

The berry and fruit end

Sour Berries Ultra is the most assertive flavour ICEBERG makes. Genuinely sour on the first minute, settling into mixed berry after that. If you like the sour-sweet children's confectionery register, this is the one; if you do not, skip it, because it does not mellow much.

Kiwi Strawberry Ultra is the crowd-pleaser of the fruit cans. Softer than Sour Berries, more defined than the gum flavours, and the strawberry carries rather than the kiwi despite the name order.

Grape Ultra tastes of purple sweets rather than of grapes, which is either the appeal or the problem depending on your view of that whole category. Dragon Fruit Extreme is the subtlest fruit in the range, which makes it an odd fit for a line built on intensity — the flavour is delicate under a strong pouch.

Strawberry Pomegranate Extreme and Guava Lime Extreme are the two most interesting cans here for a Vietnamese palate. Guava Lime in particular reads as actual fruit rather than as a sweet, and guava is a fruit people here know from the fruit, not from a wrapper, which sets a much higher bar that this one mostly clears.

The gum and confectionery flavours

Strawberry Banana Gum Ultra, Raspberry Gum Extreme, Cherry Apricot Gum and Gummy Bears Extreme form their own group. All four are built to taste of the sweet rather than of the fruit, and they are the most divisive cans in the range. Nobody is neutral about Gummy Bears.

If you have not tried a confectionery-flavoured pouch before, Cherry Apricot Gum is the gentlest entry: the apricot keeps it from becoming pure sugar the way the raspberry one does.

The two dark cans

Black Ultra and Arasaka Ultra are the line's flagships and the hardest to describe, because both are deliberately blended rather than built on a single note. Black is closer to an aniseed-and-mint cold; Arasaka is fruitier and sharper. They are the two cans regular ICEBERG buyers reach for and the two we would not recommend as a first purchase.

The one without nicotine

ICEBERG Energy Ultra is a caffeine pouch. It carries the same Ultra branding and the same 70mg-per-gram style of labelling, and it belongs to the non-nicotine line.
