Buying ZYN in Vietnam: The European Line, 3 to 18mg

ZYN is not sold on any shelf in Vietnam, and what you can buy here is the European line: 42 ZYN products, at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 milligrams of nicotine per pouch, delivered from Ho Chi Minh City and paid for in cash at the door. ZYN is made by Swedish Match, the Swedish company Philip Morris International acquired in 2022. Nothing about that changes what a can costs here or how you get one, and this page is about both.

If you used ZYN in Stockholm, London or Chicago and have spent a week looking for it in a Vietnamese convenience store, this is why you cannot find it and what the other route looks like.

What ZYN is, and who makes it

ZYN is a white tobacco-free nicotine pouch. Inside the fleece bag there is nicotine, plant fibre, water, flavouring, a sweetener and a pH regulator — no tobacco leaf, dust or stem. It sits between the upper lip and the gum for fifteen to sixty minutes; nothing is burnt, nothing is inhaled, and there is no device.

The brand belongs to Swedish Match, a Swedish maker with a long history in oral products, which Philip Morris International bought in 2022. ZYN is now the most widely distributed pouch brand in the world, which is why so many people arrive in Vietnam already using it. Tobacco-free does not mean nicotine-free: the nicotine in a ZYN pouch is still nicotine and is still addictive.

Exactly which ZYN we stock

Counted from our catalogue on 6 August 2026, we list 42 ZYN products out of 682 in total. Every one of them is from the European line. The per-pouch strengths break down like this:

• 3mg — 2 products, both mini: Gentle Mint and Spearmint. The lightest ZYN here.
• 6mg — 15 products, the largest single group, spread across mini and slim.
• 9mg — 9 products, every one of them slim.
• 12mg — 11 products, mostly slim with three minis.
• 15mg — 2 products, both slim: Blackcurrant Ice and Menthol Ice.
• 18mg — 2 products, both slim: Cool Mint Ice and Menthol Ice. The strongest ZYN in the catalogue.

That is 41 products with a published per-pouch figure. The forty-second, ZYN Lemon Spritz Slim, is listed with the strength field empty, because the maker states no figure for it and we do not fill that field with an estimate. That policy runs across the whole site.

It is worth putting that disclosure next to the rest of the shelf. Across all 682 products, 352 publish a per-pouch dose and 330 do not. ZYN publishes one on 41 of its 42; VELO, the only range here larger at 46 products, publishes one on three. If your way of choosing a can is to compare milligram figures, ZYN is one of the few brands that lets you.

Mini or slim decides which strengths you can have

This is the detail that catches people out, and it is nowhere on the tin. Our 42 ZYN products split into 28 slim, 13 mini and one with no format stated — and the two formats do not cover the same strengths.

Mini exists only at 3mg, 6mg and 12mg. Two minis at 3mg, eight at 6mg, three at 12mg. If you want the discreet shape, those are your three options and there is nothing in between or above. 9mg, 15mg and 18mg are slim-only. So a mini user who wants to move up from 6mg has one destination, 12mg, and it is a double rather than a step.

Format also changes how a strength registers. At the same milligram figure a slim pouch usually feels stronger than a mini, because more of its surface is against the gum. A Cool Mint Mini and a Cool Mint Slim at 12mg carry the same dose, and most people report the slim arriving faster. Neither shape is a strength on its own — read the number, then pick the shape.

The S-number, in one paragraph

European ZYN cans print a scale position rather than a milligram figure: S1 through S6. Every product page here shows the per-pouch figure that grade maps to, so you never have to translate. The thing to carry away is that the S-number is not the milligram number — S3 is 9mg, three times what an American can marked 3 holds — and nothing on either lid tells you which system you are holding. Reading strength when you shop past ZYN

ZYN states its strength per pouch, so the trap below does not apply to a ZYN can — but it applies the moment you compare one against something else on the shelf. Thirty-five products in our catalogue carry a much larger number: ICEBERG at 70mg/g and 50mg/g, MAGGIE at 60mg/g, GLICK at 50mg/g, NOiS at 50mg/g and 35mg/g, RAVE at 32.5mg/g. Those figures are milligrams per gram of pouch material, a concentration, not a dose per pouch, and a pouch weighs well under a gram. We publish no per-pouch dose for any of them, because converting one would mean inventing a weight nobody publishes. What a buyer in Vietnam can realistically get

There is no ZYN on a Vietnamese shelf, and there is no VinaPouches shop in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang or anywhere else. In practice there are two routes.

The informal one is cans brought back in luggage and resold through chat apps and group buys. Stock is whatever that person happened to get, nothing is listed so nothing can be compared, and there is no order record, tracking or route back to anyone afterwards. It is also where grey-market and counterfeit ZYN circulates, because ZYN's global recognition makes it the most worthwhile can to fake.

The other route is ordering. Every product in our catalogue, ZYN included, carries a single variant listed at ₫250.000 a can; the price that binds is the one shown when you order. Stock sits in Ho Chi Minh City, so an order placed inside the city before 2 PM on a working day arrives the same day by GrabExpress for ₫25.000. Hanoi is 1–2 business days by tracked courier, Da Nang 2–3, and all other provinces 3–5, covering all 63. Payment is cash on delivery only — no card number, bank detail or e-wallet account is entered on this site — so somebody has to be present with cash, and orders are confirmed by phone or Zalo before dispatch. Boxes go out plain. Unopened cans can be returned within 7 days, and age is confirmed at the gate and again at checkout.

Checking that a ZYN can is genuine

41 of our 42 ZYN products carry the manufacturer's EAN barcode, and it is published on the product page so you can check the can in your hand against something rather than take anyone's word for it. ZYN Apple Mint Slim S3, for example, is 5704420040770.

The rest of the check takes under a minute: an intact factory seal that tears rather than peels, a 13-digit barcode printed into the base rather than stickered over it, a batch code and a production or expiry date, small text that is sharp and square to the lid seam, a lid that clicks flush shut, and pouches inside that are uniform in size and count. Price is the other test and the only one you can apply before the can is in your hand.

A can that fails those checks is unverified goods — a statement about what can be established rather than a dramatic one. The American headline about ZYN

In mid-2026 a wire story circulated reporting that a United States regulator had authorised particular comparative marketing wording for 20 ZYN products at 3mg and 6mg. That was an American order, granted to Swedish Match USA, applying to named American products under American law. It has no force in Vietnam, VinaPouches makes no such claim about anything it sells, and we do not print that wording on our product pages in either language. Where the law stands

Resolution 173/2024/QH15, adopted 30 November 2024 and in force from 1 January 2025, prohibits the production, trade, import, storage, transport and use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products, with penalties set by Decree 371/2025/ND-CP from 31 December 2025 at 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 VND for an individual using a prohibited product. Oral nicotine pouches are not enumerated in it, and the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms No. 09/2012/QH13 defines a tobacco product by reference to tobacco material. The Ministry of Health's draft amendment dated 20 July 2026 does name nicotine pouches, and Resolution 11/2026/UBTVQH16 placed it before the National Assembly session of October 2026.
